Inspired by Seraphina Black’s collection of antique alchemy manuscripts , this piece features a symmetrical composition of two hands reaching toward a crescent moon and stars . Utilizing traditional stippling shading and precise line work, the artwork functions as a visual diagram of a celestial ritual—a bridge between the physical and the metaphysical, rendered with the meticulous accuracy of a vintage scientific illustration .

Operating from a Victorian greenhouse in London, Seraphina Black explores the delicate line between the known and the occult. Her intricate line work draws inspiration from 19th-century botanical records and clandestine library archives. For her residency at PODAURORA, Seraphina presents her “Arcane Study” series—a collection designed for the intellectual soul who finds beauty in the unseen.
